Bernard began his restaurant career at just 14 years old as a dishwasher and busboy, starting a lifelong journey in the hospitality industry.

In 1982, he enrolled at Mississippi State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1987. During college, Bernard worked in nearly every position at his family’s first restaurant, Harvey’s, gaining hands-on experience across the business and becoming a manager by age 22.

After graduation, he moved to Nashville, working with Chili’s and Cooker Corporation before returning to the family business to help open the third Harvey’s location in Tupelo. As the company grew, Bernard became its first Area Manager, eventually becoming a partner and Chief Operating Officer.

Today, Eat With Us Group operates five restaurant brands across 17 locations and employs more than 1,000 people. Bernard’s journey from dishwasher and busboy to partner and COO reflects his lifelong dedication to the restaurant industry.

After more than four decades in the restaurant industry, Bernard is beginning a new chapter by launching a consulting company with his daughter, Lauren, and son, Christian.

Together, they help restaurant groups and quick-service businesses strengthen operations, develop their teams, improve profitability, and build for long-term growth.

With experience spanning every level of the industry—from dishwasher to Chief Operating Officer—Bernard brings firsthand knowledge and practical insight. This venture allows him to share that experience while working alongside the next generation of his family and giving back to the industry that shaped his career.
